Missouri Inmate Will Be First Lethal Injection Since Arizona Execution

(Lake St. Louis, MO) -- A man who raped and strangled his neighbor in Lake St. Louis is set to be executed tonight. Michael Worthington will be the first execution in the nation since last month's Arizona execution that raised questions about the legality of lethal injections. He's been on death row since 1998 after pleading guilty to the 1995 killing of Mindy Griffin. His attorneys are appealing to the Supreme Court based on problems with executions in three other states.
