McCaskill Calls For De-Militarization Of Ferguson

(Ferguson, MO) -- Senator Claire McCaskill is in Ferguson, Missouri and calling for police to scale back their response to protesters angry over last weekend's shooting death of an unarmed teen by a local police officer. She met with community leaders this morning and suggested officers "de-militarize" the situation, calling the police more of a problem than a solution at this point. Police used tear gas and stun grenades on protesters last night, and arrested two national news reporters. McCaskill met with a Department of Justice attorney yesterday and will be talking to Attorney General Eric Holder later today.
