Friends And Family Remember Chuck Berry

(St. Louis, MO) -- Friends and fellow musicians celebrated the life of Chuck Berry yesterday at the Pageant Theater.  Johnny Rivers performed his cover of Berry's song "Memphis."  During an impromptu speech, Gene Simmons of KISS said hearing Berry on the radio as an eight-year-old boy changed his life.   Paul McCartney sent a message noting the influence Berry had on him and the other members of The Beatles.  Former President Bill Clinton sent a letter that was read at the by Representative Lacy Clay, calling Berry, who performed at both of Clinton's presidential inaugurations, "one of America's greatest rock and roll pioneers."
