New Pro Redskins Name Video Released

(Washington, DC) -- A new video defending the Washington Redskins' name is being released by a group funded by the team.
Redskins fan Mark Beasley is a member of Navajo Nation and is featured on "Redskins Is a Powerful Name," which is available through RedskinsFacts.com. The two-minute long video also shows several other Native Americans talking about their pride in the name, claiming the name is not offensive and saying that Native Americans are dealing with much bigger problems. Redskins owner Daniel Snyder has said he will never change the team's name, even though some Native Americans say that it is a racial slur.

Redskins fan and member of The Blackfeet Nation Robert Doore says the name is not offensive to him. Mike Wetzel, a descendant of the Redskins' logo designer and a member of The Blackfeet Nation, says the name is a source of pride for him. Play Clip
