(New York, NY) -- New York Senator Chuck Schumer is announcing a breakthrough on efforts to hold foreign states accountable for backing terrorism. He's the co-sponsor of the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act.
The bill would allow families to sue countries and groups that fund terrorists and will be considered by the Senate Judiciary Committee next week, on the anniversary of the 9-11 attacks. The legislation would apply to victims of any terror network, including al-Qaeda, ISIS and Hamas.
Terry Strada, the wife of a 9-11 victim, is pushing for justice for terror victims.
