Revel Closes For Business

(Atlantic City, NJ) -- Two years after opening and having never turned a profit, Atlantic City's Revel Casino Hotel has officially closed for business. The doors to the two-point-four-billion dollar operation were shuttered as of six o'clock this morning, with the last of casino patrons being ushered out of the gaming hall. The Revel is the latest casino to close in the resort city, though the Trump Plaza is scheduled to close within two weeks. The closure of four casinos this year marks a dark chapter in the 36-year history of legalized gaming in Atlantic City.
