(New York, NY) -- Melissa Rivers says her mom, Joan Rivers, is "resting comfortably" and with their family. She tweeted thanks for the overwhelming love and support late Thursday and asked that everyone continue to keep her mom in their thoughts and prayers. Melissa co-stars with Joan on the reality series "Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?" and co-hosts red carpet events with her. She reportedly flew in from California to New York to be at her mother's side after news broke about Joan's medical emergency. The 81-year-old comedienne was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City Thursday after she reportedly stopped breathing during vocal cord surgery at her doctor's office.
The "New York Daily News" quotes sources who say Rivers is in a medically-induced coma. Hospital officials said earlier that they would provide an update on Rivers' condition as soon as it became available.
