Government Issues New Rule On Obamacare Contraceptive Mandate

(Washington, DC) -- The Obama administration issued a new rule Friday it hopes will end its battle with religious groups over the birth control mandate in its healthcare law. The new rule will allow employers opposed to paying for contraceptive care to file their complaints directly with the government instead of insurers. The government would then arrange for insurance companies to provide birth control coverage for women who want it. The move is the latest attempt by the Obama administration to appease religious groups and businesses who object to providing contraceptive coverage to female employees.
