Senator McCaskill To Head Hearing About Police Militarization

(Washington, D.C.) -- Senator Claire McCaskill says she'll take the lead on a senate hearing next month that will focus on the militarization of local police departments. Her announcement comes after officers in Ferguson were armed with military equipment during the unrest in the area that followed the shooting death of unarmed teen Michael Brown. McCaskill says the hearing will take a close look at government programs that help local law enforcement agencies acquire military equipment.
