Maliki Resigns As Iraq's Prime Minister

(Baghdad) -- Iraq's embattled prime minister is stepping aside. Nouri al-Maliki announced in a televised speech today he was resigning and gave his support to prime minister designate Haider al-Abadi, who was nominated last week by Iraq's president. Pressure has been building on Maliki to step aside.
