First-Time Jobless Claims Up 4,000

(Undated) -- First-time claims for unemployment benefits are up again. Three-hundred-seventeen-thousand Americans filed initial claims for benefits last week. That's four-thousand more than the week before. The biggest jumps in claims were in Tennessee, Puerto Rico, Illinois, New Mexico, and Washington state. The sharpest declines were in California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and North Carolina.
