Lifetime To Air "Brittany Murphy Story" In September

(Undated) -- Lifetime is continuing its trend of adapting celebrity tales into TV movies. The network has announced a September 6th premiere date for "The Brittany Murphy Story." Actress Amanda Fuller, best known for her role on "Last Man Standing," will play the "Clueless" actress who died unexpectedly in December 2009 of pneumonia and anemia. According to Lifetime, the TV movie will chronicle Murphy's rise to fame and her movie career that also included roles in "Girl, Interrupted" and "8 Mile." It will also depict the events that took place after the actress' death with her husband, Simon Monjack, passing away several months later.

"The Brittany Murphy Story" will air September 6th at 8:00 pm on Lifetime. The network is also producing TV movies about Whitney Houston and late R&B singer Aaliyah.
