
The community is happy, residents are happy and Habitat is happy with the recent success of the Habitat ReStore! It started out as a dream, the staff, volunteers and Board of Directors envisioned a home improvement retail establishment that would offer potential buyers an opportunity to purchase new and used home improvement items at 50% to 90% off retail prices. The ReStore concept went from a dream to reality with a lot of prayer and preparation. Soon a business plan was created. Then in June of 2007, Habitat signed a lease to rent 15,000 square feet of warehouse and office space. In September of 2007, Andrea Hughes, current ReStore Manager was hired and 3 months later, with a lot of prayer and hard work, the ReStore opened it's doors to the public. Now, we have been open 16 months and have raised over $200,000 and have diverted over 200 tons of waste from the landfills! Please continue to support the ReStore by spreading the news.
