REGISTER TO VOTE - ILLINOIS

Vote IllinoisFor information about how you can register to vote, download the form attached if you are an Illinois resident. Illinois' residents may register in person at the office of the election authority, at Driver's license facilities, with deputy registrars who are appointed in each jurisdiction, or via mail registration forms available in English and Spanish. Illinois citizens residing overseas and military personnel may register using a Federal postcard application found on the Federal Voting Assistance Program website.

WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS TO BE A VOTER?

Individuals must be: a citizen of the U.S., resident of the state in which you wish to vote, 18 by election day, cannot be imprisoned, cannot be on probation or parole for a felony, cannot be convicted of a voting crim, cannot be declared incapacitated.

HOW DO I REGISTER TO VOTE?

Submit a completed voter registration application to your local election authority.

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE FOR REGISTERING TO VOTE?

Registration must be submitted by 5pm, the fourth Wednesday prior to the election.

WHERE DO I VOTE?

You can only vote at your assigned polling place or, if there is a problem at your assigned polling place, you may be eligible to vote at the central polling placy.

WHEN DOES MY POLLING PLACE OPEN AND CLOSE?

Polling places open at 6am and remain open until 7pm. Individuals in line at 7pm will be allowed to vote.
