Pippy's Reflection on Sharpton's STL Appearance

Sharpton requests peace in the aftermath of the killing of Michael Brown. Tiny Al did a decent job of delivering the message. Sharpton and Crump (Browns' lawyer) both basically said two things. 1) Peace not riots. 2 Release the name of the officer. Well, we know exactly why they're not releasing the name. The most interesting part of the conference (in my opinion) was the people sent to report. In speaking with a couple of individuals sent from DC to cover the story, it was very clear that they’re minds were set. There was no holding back in vocally expressing their feelings of distain for the police officers. Not just the man involved in the shooting, but the entire police force in Ferguson. There seems to be a national (and I’m assuming liberal) opinion that there has been unbridled police brutality and oppression specifically in Ferguson for many years. That seemed like an odd thing to just take at face value. I’m more of a producer and not necessarily a reporter but accusations and assumptions like those seem dangerous in the minds of reporters.
