About JIM NORTON
Jim Norton has emerged as one of the most versatile, unique voices in comedy; he is a 2-time NY Times bestselling author, sells out theaters nationwide as a standup comedian, and can be heard every morning on The Jim Norton & Sam Roberts Show on SiriusXM Satellite Radio. He will also appear in the Martin Scorsese directed Netflix feature The Irishman starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, Bobby Cannavale, Harvey Keitel and Ray Romano.
Jim’s 5th hour standup special Mouthful of Shame premiered on Netflix earlier this year. The hour finds Jim laying out a full serving of his signature refreshingly unapologetic humor. His other 4 one-hour comedy specials can be seen on Hulu, Amazon and HBO GO. In May 2016, he was also announced as co-host of
UFC’s wildly popular Unfiltered Podcast with Jim Norton & Matt Serra. Jim has also appeared in several TV series, including Louie (FX), Crashing (HBO), and Power (STARZ).
Since 2014, Jim has been a contributor to Time Magazine. Both of Jim’s books, I Hate Your Guts (2008) and HAPPY ENDINGS: The Tales of a Meaty-Breasted Zilch (2007), released by Simon & Schuster, spent several weeks on The New York Times bestseller list. The books are collections of Jim’s personal journal entries, raunchy sex stories, embarrassing star sightings and pathetic childhood memories all told in Jim’s honest, introspective voice.
Enchanted by standup comedy at age 12 when he saw Richard Pryor’s special Richard Pryor: Live In Concert, Jim wound up in rehab at 17, dropped out of high school the next year, then started signing up for open-mic nights at local bars at 21.
He lives in New York City.
