Save the Big Bird!

Is this really what the election has come down to, saving Big Bird?  Jamie said it today and I agree, this is a clever ad, but really with all the problems in the world, Big Bird is now the theme of this campaign?  People who get scared for PBS miss the point.  The point Mitt Romney was trying to make is that we need to pull back government and get it out of the way.  If a program isn’t working, why are we spending money on it?  People get all hysterical and start crying for Sesame Street as though the government is the only option.  What if we allowed sponsorship for PBS, do you know how much money they could get for Elmo and Co?

Big Bird is just another distraction.  It’s the same as the so called “war on women” and every other thing the Democratic Party has tossed out there in order to keep voters from looking at President Obama’s record.  There are a lot of problems with our economy and the Middle East is practically burning itself to the ground.  If you are worried about children’s TV programming and your contraceptives: first how lucky that’s the biggest worry of your day and second wake up!  Your neighbors might actually need a job to feed their kids, not some big fluffy bird singing and waving at them.
