Will You Stop Following Me?!

Hopefully everyone is having a great weekend! I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by Romney's choice of Paul Ryan as a VP candidate. He's kind of who I was secretly hoping for.
Now to the more annoying news of the day. So I went with my family to Chicago for five days and it was excellent. On Saturday we went on an architechtural tour and saw a cute little place we wanted to try for lunch once we were done. At this point in the tour, our guide also let us know that President Obama was in town, and when not at his house he stays at the Sheraton, right by said restaurant. Once the tour was done, we started walking down the river walk to get to the restaurant, and we start seeing men in black suits and in police uniforms everywhere. That's when we had the great realization that in fact we would not be going to the cute little burger joint, the President was staying at the Sheraton and that half the block was shut down. As we were climbing the stairs to street level to figure out what to do, his motorcade rolled by. There was a small crowd of us, maybe 10, waiting for him to go by so we could continue about our days, and probably six people were cheering. The four of us were not.
Again, this man has to completely throw a curve ball into my day. Not only could we not go to the restaurant we wanted to, but we had to walk about two city blocks out of our way to get to another place to eat. I understand Chicago is his hometown, but he has a house, and even if he wants to be at the Sheraton because it's safer, why not use a helicopter? Do you really have to shut down every major city, especially the ones I happen to be visiting?
