Perhaps most of you don't remember WTO, but because I spent 7 wonderful years in the great state of Washington, the video above brings back old memories from when I was in 8th grade.  We spent probably a week going over the WTO protests and discussing the riots.

I can tell you that Washington is probably one of the weirdest places I have ever lived.  I've never been to a placed with so many mixed messages.  It is where the populace of yuppie hippies live.  They want to protect the old growth, while they live in their house of all wood.  They are against consumerism, but when I went back to visit, in the last five years they have built more space for shopping centers then anywhere else I have been.  It's ridiculous.

If any of you remember, the WTO protests started out actually kind of peaceful, annoying, but peaceful.  However, looters and anarchists soon joined the crowd and started tearing the city apart.  Burning it down from the inside out.  At the time, we saw that the Seattle Police force was ill-equipped to handle such hoodlums, and the protestors, instead of turning over the violent offenders and continue with their peaceful message, joined in the mayhem.

Flash forward to today, and we see that the attitude in Seattle hasn't much changed.  Why are the Occupiers allowed to roam the city and cause mayhem, probably because the Police and business owners for the most part politically agree with the protests.  I can safely bet that 99% of Western Washington agrees witht the Occupy Wall Street movement and while they may be upset about their businesses being ruined, they agree with the message.  They will probably find a way to blame someone else, who "wasn't really a part of the OWS movement."

This is really the whole problem with "sympathizing" with the Occupy Wall Street movement.  They are so set on going after the 1% that they don't care if they have to take out a block of small business owners who would be part of their 99%.  Personally, if they want socialism and a European style government I say we ship all their dirty butts over seas.  I'm sure the Greeks wouldn't mind a few more people to burn down Athens with them.  We can ship them to any socialist country they want and see how it works out for them.  Who's with me?
