On Saturday Dave and Tom (along with producer Liz) teamed up with Emily Malabey, the President and Founder of ICAA for a school supplies drive at Dierbergs Deer Creek to benefit local schools that help special needs kids.

The event was a huge success, collecting enough to give some supplies to two area schools! Check out some pics from Saturday’s event on today’s blog.

Sunday night while I was on Twitter looking up McKayla Maroney memes, I saw the hashtag #LegitimateRape and clicked on it, discovering the now-national story of Congressman Todd Akin’s comments on this past Sunday’s (Charles) Jaco report.

Akin’s statements have reached all the way to the Romney/Ryan camp (who say their campaign does not agree with his comments) to the White House, where President Obama (in a surprise appearance) was asked about this controversy.

 

When asked if Akin should drop out of the Senate race against Claire McCaskill, the president said, “He was nominated by the Republicans of Missouri, I’ll let them sort that out.”
