Talking to God, Listening to Gotye, and Tony Colombo's Hair
Posted 8/15/2012 3:00:00 PM

YOU GUISE! Check out Tony “Tones” Colombo’s hair. ZOMG!!!!11. It’s Out. Of. Control.

I think we’re going to SHAVE IT ALL OFF this Friday on the show…for a good cause…stay tuned for details!

Tony is on with us today of course, filling in while Klose is out, and we’ve got a hum-dinger of a topic we’ll cover today at 4:30pm.

Yesterday Tony brought up that whenever he hears anyone say they’ve had conversations with God, in which they actually HEAR God’s voice, he thinks they’re crazy.

Agree? Disagree? Leave your comments on the blog!

How do you feel about Gotye? I’m on the fence. I’ve only ever heard one song from him…you know the one I mean.

The first time I heard it was here at work, and it wasn’t even his version. A few co-workers showed me this cool video of a band called Walk off the Earth doing this crazy cover:

Later on I watched the original video, after a few people told me Gotye reminded them of early Peter Gabriel.

Turns out there are a TON of parody videos out there, and the latest has a political bent.

If you’re like me you’re JUST about sick of hearing the tune…except you dig it. That’s what makes this next one worth watching.

It's two guys in a car, and Somebody That I Used to Know comes on the radio. So they both start badmouthing it, and ACT like they hate it. But by the end, they're screaming the lyrics.

My favorite version of the song isn’t even the original, it’s from The Voice and it’s by the very talented Lindsey Pavao.

Do you think Gotye is a one-hit wonder, or will he have a long and storied career? If he never matches the success of this hit, be prepared in time for music writers to wear out the “NOW I GUESS HE’S JUST SOMEBODY THAT WE USED TO KNOW” joke.

Ugh.
