1) Michael Steele gets his metal tested by Larry O'Donnell over the "23rd" and Steele comes out on top. I never put all the eggs in one basket in the 23rd and mostly talked about New Jersey. That state was most important.

2) Fact is the 23rd was a highly unusual race with a highly unusual district makeup and did you know there was no primary? It was a chosen candidate  by committee by virtue of the special election. It's too bad too many conservatives played high school with the race and made a big deal about it..mainly because it became their pet project--it was almost narcissistic the way some people turned this race into being all about them instead of all about the voters of the 23rd.  Steele is very good at realizing what went wrong in 23rd when asked by Mika.

Now, Newt said he shouldn’t have backed Dede Scozzafava, because he is positioning himself to run for President as a middle of the roader. What did he do when the Republicans won in 1994? Newt was on Greta & in his last comment to her, Newt states “you strengthen yourself by attracting more people than by driving them away” implying that you must compromise your conservative principles in order to expand the party. He stated the Era of Reagan Conservatism is over. I disagree. You stand on conservative principles & let the people come to you. He supported Dede in New York. Arlen Specter has already left the Republican Party. The Republicans do not need another Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins or Colin Powell. I remember when Gary Gill was leading Dick Gephardt in the polls until Newt praised Gephardt. He did a Climate Change commercial with Pelosi, and teamed up with Sharpton on education. Is Newt a real conservative Republican?

Half of our current national debt was incurred during the 80s when we tripled the debt. Why was increasing the debt 300% good in the 80s but a 20% increase is now devastating?

What would the lefties do without the class warfare card? Funny, but "tax cuts for the wealthy" seemed to work through that double-digit inflation during the early 80's. But I digress. Pouring money into "shovel ready projects" and tripling the defecit have worked swimmingly. But hey, the recession is over. How much of that GDP rise was government spending? Keep your shovel ready, Jeff.

O'Donnell can be a real putz but did you see him level Joe S the other morning? Joe and Mika were reciting the MSM/RNC approved talking point that Obama is trying too much and should focus on jobs, jobs, jobs. O'Connel said, paraphrasing, "Joe, don't tell me what we shouldn't do, but tell me what we should do to fix the economy." Joe was left sputtering 'tax cuts' and supporting small businesses. Pathetic. What would conservatives do to the economy today to help? Cut spending? Cut taxes for the wealthy? (The poor are unemployed and cutting their taxes is precious little help). Deregulate? What is the conservative plan for the economy? Why is Laurence O'Donnell the only person who asked that question?
