This year the Best picture nominees have been expanded to include ten nominees instead of the standard five, and I believe this is a bad idea. It’s too easy to pick out the five that don’t ...

Recently I received an e-mail asking what I thought about the Disney / Marvel merger, specifically, would this be good or bad for comic book movies?

In a move that surprised the entertainment industry recently, the Disney Corporation bought Marvel Entertainment for somewhere around four billion dollars.

The 4 bills grant the House of Mouse the rights to more than 5,000 Marvel Comics characters, including Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, and the X-Men.

Marvel mastermind (and my hero) Stan Lee is thrilled with the sale, and I think I know why.

This ensures his creations will be around for a long, long time. Look at how Mickey and Minnie and Goofy and Pluto have thrived in pop culture since Walt Disney passed.
