I was looking forward to the film after seeing the funny trailer, but was dissapointed with the flick.

You can hear my in-depth review this weekend on Max on Movies, which airs Saturdays from 2p-4p here on FM News Talk 97.1 and you can find the show on iTunes as well.

Speaking of Dinner for Schmucks, it's our intern Goldie's last day. Hard to believe his three months with us went by so slow - I mean - fast.

Our new intern Andrew (nickname TBD) starts with us on Monday, and while he may prove to be a hard worker I doubt he will be able to entertain us (in a totally unintentional way) as ...

RED trailer

Here's the new trailer that premiered at Comic Con for RED, starring Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Mary Louise Parker, Karl Urban, Helen Mirren, and John Malkovich.

Like a lost of films these days it's based on a comic book, but unlike those other films this one has Helen Mirren. With a gun. A big gun.

CLICK HERE to see the superfun trailer.

RED opens on October 15th, so mark your calendar now.

On today's Glover Show I'll review Angelina Jolie in her new thriller Salt, and Saturday on Max on Movies (2p-4p) I'll review The Losers, The Runaways, Batman: Under the Red Hood, and of course we'll talk more about this year's biggest puzzle piece, Inception.

In the meantime please follow me on Twitter, I post all kinds of movie news and reviews and it's a great way for us movie fans to stay in touch.

I can tell you to rush out and see Christopher Nolan's Inception, if you enjoy puzzles that have no clear solution. And I do, cinematically speaking. Remember to follow me on Twitter @MaxOnMovies to get the latest movie news!

Because I'll be out a few days I thought I would leave you with a video you will no doubt watch millions of times, as it is also a puzzle with no clear solution.

I'm speaking of the riddle of our intern Golde's Ping Pong Championship video. (Should 'Ping Pong' be capitalized? I'm going to go ahead and capitalize it.)

A few days (maybe hours) after Golde won his internship with the DGS, he showed Associate Producer Jon Wier and I this video, which prompted Jon ...

A-List

Well tonight I'm going to an event that couldn't be more different than the Jersey County Fair - I'll be going with Dave and Tom to the Saint Louis Magazine A-List Awards event in the Central West End.

The Dave Glover Show was selected by the readers of STL Mag as their favorite radio show for 2010, which means we get the VIP treatment tonight.

Thanks to everyone who voted for our show.

Tomorrow I'll see the new movie Inception, which I am very excited about. Follow me on Twitter to get my take on the flick straightaway!

Of course I'll also be reviewing it this Saturday on Max on Movies, along with The Bounty Hunter and The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

And I'll give away a copy of The Losers.

Woo Hoo Yay!

It's a huge honkin' slice of Americana. Grab a corn dog, a lemonade, and you're all set.

Last night I had the opportunity to be a celebrity judge for the 15th annual Jersey County Fair in Illinois. I've never done anything like it before and it was a great deal of fun.

Being behind the scenes at one of these shindigs is a trip. It was me, a few other radio jacks, and some Rams Cheerleaders. The talent show we judged had a variety of acts ranging from piano players, vocal solos, and dance routines.

I was struck by some of these small town kids who were truly talented!

Some of my favorite performers didn't place, so I wanted to give them a shout-out here.

I was very impressed with Kara Hecker's original song, which I ...

What a weird job I have

Drumroll please - I'm Mr. 97.1!!!!!

Thanks to everyone who voted, no matter if you voted for Kevin or me.

Kevin Conrey put up a good fight and in the end he got a day off for his troubles. Thanks again to everyone who watched our videos, laughed at our pictures, and listened to our interviews.

As the winner, I get a day off, $50 to Tanglefoot Steakhouse, and an over-the-top far too large trophy from promotions.

Being the loser, Kevin had to get a buzz cut on the air. Kevin was not too happy about this, and his host Dana was not too happy about him losing.

Something screwy seems to have happened with the voting in the last few days, with my votes more than doubling Kevin's.

Dana seemed convinced I had something to do with this but I can honestly say I ...

The final week for Mr. 97.1

Thank the Maker - it's the final week of voting in this silly Mr. 97.1 contest, so I'm urging you to click THIS LINK and watch my video - then VOTE FOR ME!

The loser gets a buzz cut so have mercy and do your best to crown me champion.

I'll make sure I continue to produce awesome shows and bring you movie reviews if you don't make me cut my hair!

I'm already wondering what my duties will be if I become Mr. 97.1 - will I go door to door spreading the KFTK love? We'll see.

And who should compete in this contest next year? Carl Middleman vs Jon Wier?

Should we have a Ms. 97.1? Who should compete? Becca vs Liz? Dana vs Denys?

The mind boggles.

You see my finished basement flooded last week, and ruined the furniture, bookshelves, and other items I had down there.

Since then my wife and I have been dealing with contractors, insurance adjusters, and clean up crews. Hopefully we'll see some renovation soon that will restore our basement, if not our belongings.

The toughest, most major loss was my comic book collection, some 400+ books that I've spent at least 25 years building. (I'm 32.)

I want to make sure I say thank you to all of the 97.1 listeners who have sent me their sympathy since I mentioned this on air!

And I also want tell you what kind of guy Dave Glover is. Upon learning what happened, ...

Murphy's Law

Metropolis was a lot of fun as always!

Not as many crazies in costumes this year, but lots of collectibles and comics to buy. Plus Laura Supergirl Vandervoort and Sam Doomsday Witwer were both pretty cool in person.

The first thing I did when I came in to work today was film my 'Interview' segment for this ridiculous 'Mr. 97.1' contest I've been roped in to.

If I win, I get further fame and fortune (I would suppose). If I lose, they're going to CUT MY HAIR.

Click HERE to see the interview, and remember to VOTE TEAM MAX!

So today was my first day back at work after a few days off last week, and it was a day that proved Murphy's Law: 'Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.'

We had troubles with production, random behind-the-scenes issues, and other problems that would seem boring to you but ...

Metropolis!

This just in...the LOSER of Mr. 97.1 will CUT HIS HAIR!

OMG. The stakes just got high for young Mr. Kevin Conrey and I. I've got more to lose up top, but I don't think either one of us want to lose our locks.

Remember to vote TEAM MAX!

It's time once again for my annual trip to Metropolis, Illinois for the Superman Celebration! Woo Hoo Yay!

It's four days of comic books, celebrities, collectibles and beer. Lots and lots of beer.

Follow me on Twitter @MaxOnMovies so you can hear all about the fanboys in costumes and the drunken nights hanging out with Supergirl.
