Great show today! Rodney Boyd checked in from Jeff City, Dr. Tobler chimed in on this Dr. Carson business and Judge Napolitano did his weekly hit and discussed the DHS tank and ammo buy. CLICK HERE to download the podcasts!
Michelle Obama perplexes me. Between crashing the Oscars, dancing with comedians, de-fryering schools and now teaching our youth “how to dougie” she’s a busy lady. Yet, she’s not exactly doing anything to enhance the credibility of the Obama administration. I understand that she’s the first lady and not a politician but a little discretion maybe? Maybe I'm just bitter because I can’t stand Jimmy Fallon, I like French fries and I have no idea how to “dougie”.

The Romney’s were interviewed by Chris Wallace of Fox News Sundays (also of AitM Thursdays 8:10a CT) over the weekend. While Mitt was still disappointed with himself and the loss, Ann says she has, “no problem blaming the media.” Good for her. President Obama has been a hotshot in the media - news and entertainment. I hate to say “celebrity president” but… that’s huge part of his scheme. It seems ironic now that David Gregory thinks the media was never up to bat for him. We're starting to see a slight shift as Obama is portrayed as less desirable. If the trend continues it will be interesting and practically unheard of for a democrat...especially the leader of our country... to not be ...

NO Fries Please

Happy sequestration day! That’s all on that. I’m done with the whole business. Let the chips fall as they may.
On to Michelle Obama (ugh). Don’t get me wrong I think that obesity in our society is out of hand. However, taking fryers out of schools is extreme. As is checking students lunch boxes. What’s next outlawing large sodas? Oh, wait NY already did that. Lock your doors, next thing you know there will be government employees in your kitchen raiding your refrigerator. Happy Friday!

What will you be wearing for sequestration day? Wouldn't it be nice for our president to take responisbility for the sequestration (as it was his idea), let it go through and choose his cuts wisely? Jamie's analogy: the head of a struggling household doesn't take food from a child - is perfect. It's ironic that our current administration's ultra liberal policies intentionally cause increased government dependancy, yet the people are the first to suffer when changes must be made. It would be a darn shame if the big dogs in Washington couldn't live like royality.

Lions and tigers and PIGS, oh my! We had a heated discussion with caller Sally today, talked Rand Paul’s Hagel vote with Jim Carafano and listened to some Bob Seger, Joe Walsh and Passion Pit. I’d call it a successful morning.
Above we have Speaker of the House John Boehner and as Jamie said his position is pretty darn encouraging. With our current administration backed into a corner with this sequestration fiasco, it’s great to hear Boehner tell the Senate to “get off their ass” and do something.

Most of us here at Allman in the Morning will be attending the Passion Pit concert tonight...so Happy Passion Pit Day! With the "threat" of the sequester just day's away naturally we discussed what Prez O could, would, should, probably won't do. This terrifying (?) sequesteration busisness probably won't affect Mr. President's spending, luncheons, rounds of golf...you get the idea.
I think my favorite part of the show today what the clip above from Press Secretary Jay Carney where he literally walks out on a press conference after the media began questioning Obama's campaign donors and those who are granted access to the White House. In general politicians use flowery language to avoid answering any real questions. After Carney said he was going to "refer" us to the company in question it appears he temporarly ran out of deferal tactics and simply walked off stage.

My apologizes for the delay in the blog posting. As always we had a great show today. We welcomed back Shibani Joshi from the Fox Business Network and chatted with Congresswoman Ann Wagner. As you've all probably heard by now our first lady couldn't help but raid the Oscars, welcoming us "to the White House". Ugh. The best part as Jamie pointed out was that the video we tried to pull after the fact had been taken down for copyright purposes… aren't our hard earned (and well spent, ha!) dollars being used for that house and video and television programming? I guess we didn't sign up for the package with the video after.

I’m sure you’re aware of how much we love Piers Morgan and value his opinion here at the Allman in the Morning show… The video above only further lends credibility to his political opinion. Or not. Hopefully, he’s back on the celebrity band wagon in his futile attempts to revive(?)/jump start an acting career choosing Jessica Alba to be his first leading lady… what a lucky girl. I say hopefully, though I’m sure Alba doesn’t hope this, because maybe it will keep him off of his naïve political banter. Come on Jess take one for the team here.
Hope everyone is having a great morning! If you were lucky enough to have the day off…WAHOO…if not hey at least it’s Friday!

What you’re probably interested in is what does this sequestration deal mean to me? Well CLICK HERE and listen to the first hour of the show and Jamie will explain exactly what it means. Actually, all of our guests today (Sandra Smith, Jim Talent, Kevin Jackson and Chris Wallace) were very knowledgeable and informative. What it boils down to, is that most of us probably won’t feel the effects of the sequestration. However, some of us will. I believe it was Chris Wallace today who said sequestration needs to happen and Obama needs to publically be given the power to decide where the money will come from. In turn, when repercussions inevitably arise, we can point fingers at the actual problem with no room for denial.
As Jamie stated, maybe there is still hope. Enjoy the clip above from Jay Leno. Note: the audience in California’s reaction!

For all of the “war on women” and “fight campus violence” that the left pushes, it must be a shocking blow to have this guy on their side. I read Cosmopolitan magazine (guilty pleasure) for mindless entertainment from time to time. It takes reading it for all of about fifteen seconds to figure out which way they lean. They essentially ran free campaign ads for Obama before the November election; using comparisons for Romney and Obama that painted Romney as a woman hating jerk. Well, I wonder how they feel about good ol’ Joe Salazar, the state representative from Colorado, who is also concerned about the plight of women. This one’s a no brainer. He essentially says women really don’t need more than a “whistle” to protect themselves from a rapist. If he were a conservative all hell would break loose, but he’s a liberal so the Allman in ...
