Some parents are
criticizing St. Louis Community College's plan to close daycare centers
available to students on two campuses. The college's Board of Trustees
Thursday night voted to shut down the centers on the Meramec and Forest Park
campuses in July as a way to save 529-thousand dollars in order to balance next
year's budget. Officials say around 200 students out of the college's
28-thousand use the centers, which charge four-dollars an hour for students to
utilize.
