The new I-64 will reopen to the public on Monday December 7th. MODOT
crews made the announcement at a news conference this morning. Officials
say the highway will open a month early and also $11 million under budget.

A St. Louis city official apologizes after a homeless camp was destroyed
by park rangers yesterday. Bill Siedhoff, director of the department of
human services, said the park rangers were out of line to destroy the
belongings of about a dozen homeless people in Interco Park. Siedhoff
says the rangers did not follow protocol.

A panel of law enforcement officials, prosecutors and government figures
met in Jefferson City this week for a DWI summit. They were called by
Governor Jay Nixon to come up with more stringent enforcement measures,
including seizing the cars of multiple offenders and making it a crime
to refuse a breathalyzer test. Nixon instructed state legislators to
submit bills based on the suggestions.
