If you look up the word 'disjointed' in the dictionary, this is what you'll find: dis·joint'ed - Adjective - 1.Separated at the joints. 2.Out of joint; dislocated. 3.Lacking order or coherence. I'm going to make it real simple for the 2007 edition of Websters - from now on they can simply show the poster for "Premonition."

Linda Hanson (Bullock) has a loving hubby and two loving daughters and things are just peachy in her world. The peachiness comes to an end when she receives word that her husband has died in a car wreck. Devastated, we follow a shocked Linda as her family starts making funeral arrangements. When Linda wakes up the next morning, her husband Jim (Dr. Doom himself, Julian McMahon) is alive and well, drinking a cuppa joe and watching sports on TV. Linda assumes Jim’s death was a nightmare, and things go back to peachyville until Linda awakens the next morning to find that Jim is dead again.

In-between the "Jim's Alive" and "Jim's Dead" days, Linda finds out that he may have been having an affair with a co-worker (Amber Valetta) and she questions whether or not she should 'let' Jim die, or continue trying to find a way to save him.

This all sounds kinda promising, doesn't it? Aren't you asking yourself "Gee, I wonder what's going on here! I can’t wait to find out!” Well don't look for any straight answers from this film.

It's unclear as to if this is one single week that Linda is living out of order, what happens on which day of the week, and so on. Peter Stormare shows up for a couple of scenes as a shrink who commits Linda in response to her erratic behavior, but it's unclear on which day this happens. I'm having a hard time keeping it all straight as I'm typing this.
I love movies that think outside the box, and at first glance that's what this one is all about. An odd mixture of "Groundhog Day" and "Memento,"  this film fails to make the least bit of sense after setting up a very flimsy premise that has no real pay off anyway. The ending is as unsatisfying as the rest of the movie.

So instead of trying to make sense of a puzzle whose pieces I doubt fit together anyway, let me share with you things I learned from "Premonition."

Monday: Audiences around the world will get the chance to watch Sandra Bullock in another thriller with a time-travel device, because “The Lake House” just wasn’t enough.

Sunday: There’s hope this Sandra Bullock movie will at least be as good as "Speed 2."

Wednesday: JIM DIES!!!!!!!!!

Saturday: If you think your husband is dead, when you find that he is alive the next day your reaction will be as if someone told you your car needed on oil change.

Friday: Total incoherence AND Sandra Bullock in the same movie? Finally!

Thursday: If your daughter cuts her face after running into and breaking a sliding glass door, the door will be magically replaced and as good as new within two days.

Tuesday: After watching "Premonition," I can honestly say it's not as good as "Speed 2."
