Auto Talk

Hosted by David Finkelstein

Popular automotive radio talk show host David Finkelstein, known for his on-air talent and high ratings on 97.1 FM Talk, has left the St. Louis Post-Dispatch after being with that publication for 28 years as its freelance automotive technical advice columnist. Mr. Finkelstein said "in all of that time, the Post-Dispatch had printed some 1,000 automotive technical columns he had written." On the other hand, David is pleased and excited to announce that he will be the Automotive Writer at the Riverfront Times, (besides running his repair shop on a daily basis) doing new car and truck reviews as well as writing about new industry technologies and automotive consumer tips. At last audit count, close to 100,000 copies of this weekly publication are printed.

David further said that "the new column opportunity will be a natural extension of his radio show, Auto Talk, as the new column will also be called Auto Talk in order to keep the theme consistent." The cross promoting will be a win-win situation for everyone involved - the listeners, Emmis Communications, the RFT as well as the sponsors. Additionally, it's worth noting that the RTF also publishes and distributes their papers in 11 other major cities. The new auto column therefore will have the potential of being read by millions of readers.

David is a skilled master automotive repair technician; shop owner and mechanic for almost 40 years; inventor of a couple of repair tools for mechanics everywhere and serves on a number of automotive professional boards besides being the vice president of the automotive technicians association.
