It's officially football season, and I couldn't be more excited. Except for one small hitch. My hometown team, the
Miami Dolphins, have made a pact with one Jimmy Buffett.
Not being a Buffett fan, I'm not sure how I feel about this.
Buffett and team owner Stephen Ross recently unveiled a logo for
LandShark Stadium, the new name of the Dolphins' home. (Buffett's LandShark Lager is brewed by Anheuser-Busch, and is not too bad.)
Thankfully, the agreement to change the name from Dolphin Stadium is for THIS SEASON ONLY and expires BEFORE the stadium plays host to the Super Bowl in February.
Thank the almighty (Marino) for that.
To throw salt in a Dol-Fan's wounds, a
Margaritaville area will be created at the stadium, with a goal of bringing Buffett's "unique culture" to games.
Unique Culture? Ugh.
No wonder the Fins lost their season opener. They blew out their flip ...
