While in the Missouri Senate, I sponsored and passed the Elderly Protection Act of 2003, which increased the penalties for elder abuse crimes. As President Pro Tem, the Senate crafted the Missouri Senior Rx plan, providing prescription drug coverage for the poorest seniors. In 2005, Senior Rx transitioned into Missouri Rx and now enrolls over 170,000 Missouri seniors. I currently chair the Missouri Rx Plan Commission.

Because of Missourians efforts in the past, she was able to lead the way in uncovering fraud that placed many senior, veteran, and vulnerable Missourians at risk. The Lieutenant Governor is one of the leading proponents for senior and veteran rights. As the holder of that office, Montee will make sure that the senior citizens and veterans of Missouri continue to be protected. (Read More...)
