The purpose of a caucus system in Missouri is to bind Missouri's delegates to the national convention. The was voted on and approved by the Missouri Republican Party because of new rules handed down from both the Republican and Democratic National Committees which require states to hold their binding nominating contests in March 2012 or later. Had the state failed to comply with the new rules set forth by the committee, Missouri would have lost half of their delegates at the National Convention.
If you are a registered republican, you may vote at the caucus in the county where you are registered.
