MITT ROMNEY - Gay Marriage

Romney is a strong supporter of traditional marriage. He derives his values regarding marriage from the example set forth by his parents. He and his wife, Ann Romney, have five sons and sixteen grandchildren.

Romney believes that marriage is a vital part of a healthy civilization. His efforts to protect traditional marriage, the joining of one man and one woman, will include appointing an Attorney General to defend DOMA (the Defense of Marriage Act) as well as to establish a Federal Marriage Amendment to the Constitution which will solidify marriage as a union between one man and one woman.

BARACK OBAMA - Gay Marriage

Barack Obama has worked to achieve progress for the LGBT community by repealing the controversial "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" act. He is opposed to DOMA (the Defense of Marriage Act) and his administration has labeled it unconstitutional while working towards its repeal. He has also worked to establish the opportunity for hospital visitation and medical decision-making rights to gay and lesbian couples.
